Compression

Compression lets you broadcast video with the maximum network efficiency. Meetrix's world class proprietary compression technology delivers up to 30 frames per second in a fraction of competing solutions. Our compression is done in real time, delivering a rich presentation with a high frame rate for very small bandwidth. Meetrix manages a audio, video and data stream in < 60 Kbs with minimum CPU inpact. A 1Ghz machine can easily decode multiple streams while allowing you to interact with your desktop and other applications.

Networking

Networking allows the transport of the compressed video to the receiver(s). It's simple to do one to one video conferencing, and easy for everyone to send video to everyone else, but that leads to a rapidly saturated network. Meetrix invented multipoint peer-to-peer technology which only requires each user to send a single stream outbound which is then intelligently routed to all the other participants. This effectively creates a single subnet of all participants regardless of where they are in the world. The design allows us to run on existing bandwidth; no need to add network capacity.
Similar to other peer-to-peer networking solutions such as Skype, Freedom Office uses remote proxies for call set up allowing connections through network boundaries deep into corporate subnets. However, Freedom Office allows much higher quality and per-call scalability than imposed by the peer-to-peer architectures.

All participants can join and leave a Freedom Office meeting at any time dynamically creating secure connections at call creation and closing them at call completion. All media and data streams are secured end-to-end using the latest SSL/TLS encryption technology to provide complete conference security.
